Novelist Mauro Javier Cardenas released his debut novel The Revolutionaries Try Again in the UK in September, with Coffee House Press.
A dizzying, humorous success story of a novel, The Revolutionaries Try Again follows three childhood friends in Cardenas's home country Ecuador as they fight against dictatorship and attempt to deal with complexities of their shared past. Absurd, exuberant and intelligent, this novel has been described as a 'dazzling debut' by Lit Hub and 'avant garde genius' by Art Forum. Cardenas, who's now based in San Francisco and has a degree from Stanford University, is a new literary force to be reckoned with.
